Hi guys! I know I have been MIA for the past few weeks, there was just a lot of things going on and TBH, I think it was that phase when I am in zero inspiration or motivation to write any blog post. I think it’s normal? but the good thing is I am back! and I am finally really to share with your our last day in HK! It is such a bittersweet feeling but yeah we all have to face reality one way or the other so here it is!
MARCH 29, 2017
10:00: Last morning in HK 😦
We all decided to take it easy on the last day since we won’t have much time to roam around anymore. We just strolled around TST or to places that are just walking distance from our Hotel finding a place to have lunch.
While walking around we stumbled upon this small stall called Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan-Fried Buns along Lock Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui. At first I was a bit curious because “shanghai PAN-FRIED buns”? What is that? Is it like a gyoza? Then I saw that they have a Michelin Star Recognition and I told my mom we should try this!
We ordered Signature Pan-Fried Buns (28hkd/ each for 4 pcs) and Pan-Fried Buns with Shrimp (36hkd/each for 4 pcs). I know we just ate breakfast and walked for about 10 mins or less? but when we first tasted it we were all like yeah we should get more of these! They are so delicious!
We went ham for this one! It tastes like a xiao long bao but you’d expect it to be on a drier side of a XLB because of the Pan-Fried bottom, but it wasn’t the case, the soup still explodes inside the mouth and that fried bottom gives it a nice texture and it enhances the taste of the buns! Plus, the black vinegar was also amazing! Not too over powering but it completely compliments the taste of the buns.
KP and I was mind-blown with how good this is! We were already thinking if we should buy more and drown ourselves with this goodness and have it for lunch or eat it like a pre-lunch snack (which is what we did)
11:00 : Kebabs, Kebabs, Kebabs!
Okay, after our awesome pre-lunch snack, KP really wanted to eat something halal so we found this Istanbul Kebab near the Pan-Fried Bun Place so, we gave it a go!
Luckily, we are able to find a spot despite the small dining area. We ordered Chicken, Lamb and Beef Kebab and Doner which are bomb!! We all enjoyed every bit of it! From the kebabs down to the yogurt sauce. It was all spot on!
Right after lunch, we bought some beef jerky from Bee Chiang Heng for a last minute pasalubong at home. I love Bee Chiang Heng’s beef jerky more than Macau’s beef jerky from Koi Key Bakery.
16:00: Hong Kong International Airport
We just lounged around the airport while waiting for our flight. We had dinner at Popeye’s then in like a jiffy, we are back in Manila!
Well, that’s it for our #HappyCampergoestoHK blog series! I hope you all enjoyed reading it! Stay tuned for the next post cause I will be talking about our haul and a review on some of the items I’ve already used! 🙂
